Tour overview
Pikey Peak Trek offers the greatest view of the Everest Himalayan Range, it is a recently opened trekking route in the Solukhumbu region that has quickly gained popularity. This trip gives you the chance to see Everest, the lower Khumbu region, changing landscapes, breathtaking vistas of the region’s towering peaks at dawn and dusk, as well as the distinctive Sherpa culture and way of life. Despite being a tiny, rural area, there are many artistic old monasteries and a diversity of religious and cultural practices in the communities.
Pikey Peak’s trip starts with a picturesque drive from Kathmandu to Patale, the starting point of the trip. Despite being relatively fresh, this road is a favorite among trekkers since it departs from the Lower Khumbu region, which provides a fantastic opportunity to observe topographical and ecological variety and the experiences of the Sherpa people living there. The main draws of this trekking path are the historic monasteries, verdant valleys, enormous Mani walls, breathtaking rhododendron woods, and breathtaking views of the dawn and sunset. Pikey Peak is well-known for its serene surroundings, distinctive Sherpa culture, and stunning mountain vistas. The route passes through rhododendron forests, little, picturesque villages, and less touristy Khumbu town. The tranquility and vistas of the Himalayan panorama
Trekkers from all over the world come here because of the surreal atmosphere created by the serene mountains and views of the Himalayan scenery. A person with a reasonable degree of fitness may do the Pikey Peak Trek, which is a short trekking destination that carries a low risk of altitude sickness.

Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu
Our representatives will be waiting for you at Tribhuwan International Airport on the first day, on your arrival time. You will be given a hearty welcome before being taken to a hotel that meets tourist standards. On this day, we have a meeting scheduled to introduce ourselves to the trekking group and talk more about the trip.
Day 2: Drive to Dhap, Trek to Japre
The day will begin with a long drive from Kathmandu to Dhap (8–9 hours) . The trek begins on a hillside south of Dhap, and as you move closer to Sigane, the mountains you will soon come to know very well — the peaks of the Numbur Himal part of the Himalayan Range — come into view. The first settlement you arrive at is Japre (2920 m/9580 ft), which is situated atop a deep valley and offers pleasant views of Numbur Himal and Everest. This is your overnight stop; there's a little gompa and stupa here.
Day 3: Trek from Japre to Pikey Base Camp
The route ascends to a grassy ridge at Bhulbhule after Japre. This location offers good views of the Everest range and a lone, unnamed lodge. The path splits soon after Bhulbhule, and you'll head right to Pikey Peak. You'll go by a long mani stone wall and a few ancient yak homes. The route then meanders along a lovely woodland trail as it circles the slope beneath Taklung Danda.
Along the smooth trail, there are many rhododendrons, which you can see in bloom if you trek there in the spring. After emerging from the trees, Pikey Peak base camp is only a short distance away—roughly two hours. The top is only a short hike away at 4065 meters, or 13336 feet, from here. It is preferable to go to the peak early in the morning to see the sunrise, unless you have a very clear evening.
Day 4: Sunrise at Pikey Peak, Trek to Loding
The route, which is lined with prayer flags, is easy to follow and begins early in the morning. The vistas are amazing! You'll be rewarded with expansive vistas ranging from Kanchenjunga to Annapurna if the weather is clear.
After climbing Pikey Peak, you'll follow a ridgeline that becomes steeper as you enter the forest, although it starts off level and leads to Jase Bhanjyang, where breakfast is waiting for you. You'll continue walking down to Loding after breakfast, which goes through some steep parts of the forest. There are a few affordable, lovely options for lodging available to you in Loding.
Day 5: Trek from Loding to Junbesi, Visit Thubtenchoeling Monastery
To begin the day, you'll drive down the ridgeline to Jase Bhanjyang for breakfast. After that, there are several ways to descend to Junbesi. The most likely is a gorgeous alternative route that drops sharply through an amazing old-growth forest to Taktor shortly after Jase, leaving the ridge. This track merges with the Everest Base Camp trek as it approaches Jiri. You'll probably run across a few other visitors for the first time here, as the tea shops are a little more established.
Junbesi is reachable in a couple of hours along a beautiful trail from Taktor. Nestled at an elevation of 2675 meters (8776 feet), Junbesi is a historic Sherpa village that is considered the birthplace of Sherpa culture and architecture. The Solukhumbu is regarded as a holy valley by the Sherpas. Buddhism thrives in this isolated region of Nepal that shares a border with Tibet, and there are several Buddhist monasteries along the journey.
Day 6: Trek from Junbesi to Taksindu
We will hit the path headed towards Taksindu this morning. If the weather permits, cross the river at the bottom of the town and ascend through the forest to Salung, where there are views of Makalu (8481 m/27,824 ft), Chamlang (7319 m/ 2,4012 ft), and Mount Everest (8848 m/ 29,028 ft). Beautiful views may be seen looking down into Phaplu and over the valley to Chiwong Monastery.
Following the trail's contours, descend to a flow and then ascend a short distance into Ringmo—known for its apple orchards and unique apple products including cider, apple pie, and apple rakshi (alcohol)—begins. After that, there's a quick ascent to Taksindu La, which offers breathtaking views of the Himalayas once more, and a brief descent to the Taksindu Monastery and your lodge. Built in 1946, the Taksindu Monastery is often open in the early morning or late afternoon. Kindly remember to give a donation if you stop by.
Day 7: Trek from Taksindu to Phaplu, Visit Chiwong Monastery
Today, go off the main trekking route once again and follow a lovely road through the forest that descends to Phaplu. Another choice is to go up to Chiwong Gompa, which is situated atop a cliff with a stunning view of the valley. Founded in 1923, this monastery hosts grand events for the October Mani Rimdu festival. Proceed towards Phaplu and relish the end of an amazing journey at your welcoming tea house.
Day 8: Drive from Phaplu to Kathmandu (Flight option is also available)
Today, we say goodbye to the mountains and get back into the vehicle to make the journey down to the Kathmandu Valley. After a long travel, you may spend the evening relaxing at any hotel in Kathmandu that we drop you off at.
Day 9: Departure
After attending breakfast in the morning on the tenth day of your holiday, you can go shopping or visit a market to get gifts for your loved ones. We'll be available to assist you with making travel plans and reservations.
