Tour overview
Trekking to Annapurna Base Camp in Nepal offers a captivating combination of top-notch trekking and breathtaking nature, all against a background of towering peaks. We ascend past the valleys’ rhododendron and bamboo woods, terraced farms, and charming villages—following an old trade route to Tibet—to arrive at the Annapurna Base Camp, 4130 meters, where a world of glaciers and breathtaking peaks greets us. This breathtaking journey enters the mountain region known as the “Annapurna Sanctuary,” the heavenly residence of the Hindu deities Annapurna and Gangapurna, via a gorge. Surrounded by beautiful peaks like Machapuchhre (6,993 m), Hiunchuli (6,441 m), Annapurna South (7,219 m), and Annapurna I (8,091 m), Annapurna Sanctuary has breathtaking and distinctive landscapes. The trek is considered a unique excursion due to its diversified ecology and significant altitude difference. The trail offers stunning panoramas of the mountains as it meanders past terraced farmlands, lush woodlands dotted with rhododendrons, and gorgeous rice fields. Take in the majesty of towering mountains while learning about the diverse lifestyle and culture of Nepal.
The best months to trek to Annapurna Base Camp are March through May in the spring when rhododendron forests are in blossom, and September through November in the fall when the mountains are crisply visible. With a little extra planning, trekking to Annapurna Base Camp during the winter and monsoon seasons is also possible.

Itinerary
Day 01: Drive from Pokhara to Nayapul / Syauli Bazaar / Kimche (1,784m) Trek to Ghandruk (1940m / 6,364ft )
We will be driving by car through Nayapul and Syauli Bazaar on our way to Kimche from Pokhara. The actual trekking route begins in Kimche and ends in Ghandruk. Along the way, you'll pass by enormous mountains, subtropical woods, terraced farms, and amazing mountain scenery.
The settlement of Ghandruk is rich in cultures and lifestyles from the past and is home to many Buddhist temples. We will make the most of our opportunity to visit the Gurung Museum. Views of Fishtail, Annapurna South, and the Hiunchuli mountains are breathtaking from Ghandruk.
Day 02: Trek from Ghandruk (1,940m / 6,364ft ) to Chomrong (2,170m) / Sinuwa (2,340m) | Trek Duration: 4hrs
We trek from Ghandruk over an uphill to Kimron River and then ascend to reach Chomrong, starting with an early morning cup of tea. You will enjoy breathtaking vistas of Fishtail Mountain and Annapurna South from the route, which seems divine in the early morning light. Situated on a mountainside, Chomrong is surrounded by the massive Annapurna mountain range. We will hike further to spend the night in Sinuwa if we get to Chomrong early.
Day 03: Trek from Chomrong (2,170m) / Sinuwa (2340m) to Himalaya (2,890m) / Deurali ( 3,174m) | Trek Duration: 6/7 hrs
Depending on where we spent the night before, today's walk will be slightly different. If we stayed at Chomrong, we would climb across Sinuwa to reach the Himalaya. If not, we shall hike to Deurali starting from Sinuwa.
So you may leave Chomrong and go on a stone-paved route through the verdant forest till we cross Chomrong Khola. The trail then climbs, taking us through dense forests of rhododendron and bamboo before arriving at the Himalaya. If we hiked from Chomrong, we would either spend the night in the Himalaya or in Deurali.
Day 04: Trek from Himalaya (2,890m) / Deurali (3174m) to Annapurna Base Camp (4,130m/13,550ft) via Machhapuchchhre Base Camp (3720m)
Machhapuchchhre Base Camp (3720m)
If we are in the Himalaya, we depart from the Himalaya and proceed to the Annapurna Base Camp by way of the Modi Khola glacier valley, which passes by the Machhapuchhre Base Camp. If not, the journey will begin at Deurali. Although the surrounding mountains are breathtakingly visible from Machhapuchhre Base Camp, we continue to ascend north to Annapurna Base Camp.
We will be walking in close proximity to the Annapurna glaciers for the duration of the trip. A 360-degree vista of the Hiunchuli and Annapurna ranges, including Khangsar Kang, Gangapurna, Annapurna III, Machhapuchhare, and Annapurna I (8,097m/26,566ft), can be viewed from Annapurna Base Camp.
Day 05: Trek from Annapurna Base Camp (4,130m / 13,550ft) to Bamboo (2,350m / 7,700ft)
Following a hearty breakfast while taking in the breathtaking views of the Himalayan sunrise, we begin our journey that will ultimately lead us outside of the Annapurna Sanctuary. To go to Bamboo village, our goal for the day, we must first retrace our ways outside of the Modi River Valley.
Day 06: Trek from Bamboo (2,350m / 7,700ft) to Jhinu Danda (1,780m / 6,393ft) and nearby natural hot springs
Our journey continues as we descend to Kimrong Khola. From there, the trail climbs and winds through placid woods of oak, bamboo, and rhododendron, until arriving at Chomrong hamlet. However, we keep going till we get to Jhinu Danda, a little, tranquil village. We relax in the hot springs along the river in this settlement, which relieves our aching muscles. We are going to spend the night in Jhinu Danda.
Day 07: Trek from Jhinu Danda (1,780m / 6,393ft) to Siwa/Ghandruk Phedi (1,150m / 3,770ft) drive to Pokhara (820m ) via Nayapul (1050m)
The trip will come to an end today. After departing from Jhinu Danda, we take the dust road that runs to Mardi Khola's right. After three or four hours of enjoyable walking, we arrive at Siwa/Ghandruk Phedi. We travel from Ghandruk Phedi to Birethanti, then on to Nayapul, and finally to Pokhara. At Pokhara, our trek package comes to an end. By then, perhaps, you would have made priceless memories of arriving at Annapurna Base Camp.
