Tour overview

Annapurna Circuit Trek is considered to be among the world’s top trekking destinations in the world. This route traverses the entire Annapurna Massif and leads to Tilicho Lake. Travelers are always astonished by the range of possibilities available in Annapurna. This trek’s highest point, the 5,416-meter-high Throng la Pass touches the Tibetan Plateau. Depending on the mode of transportation you choose, the entire distance of the trip ranges from 160 to 230 kilometers. This hike often begins in Besisahar Lamjung and concludes in Pokhara.

You travel around the whole Annapurna Massif on this trip. You will stroll across the Kali Gandaki River, which has the deepest gorge on Earth. You will pass many peaks between 6000 and 8000 meters in height during the route. Some of the peaks you will see on your tour are Dhaulagiri, Machhapuchhre, Manaslu, Tilicho Peak, and Pisang peaks. You will follow the Marshyangdi River on this trek, which offers breathtaking vistas of the Himal Chuli and Manaslu peaks. The Gurung and Ghale communities will extend a warm welcome to you throughout the route. Magnificent vistas of the snow-white Himalayas and the parched Tibetan Plateau can be seen as one continues north.

The ascent of Thorong La Pass is the most difficult climb. Before descending to the well-known sacred temples at Muktinath, we are treated to breathtaking views of the mountains from the top of the pass. The well-known city of Jomsom is reached by the Annapurna Circuit Trek. Trekkers stop at Jomsom for a break, and the comfortable hotels here will put you at ease.

Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu

Upon your arrival, our airport representative will greet you at Kathmandu's Tribhuvan International Airport. He will drive you in a private car to the hotel. On that day, you will have a planned meeting at the hotel regarding your trip. We will introduce you to your guide/leader at this meeting. Feel free to ask any questions you may have regarding the trip. Moreover, you will spend the night at a Kathmandu hotel.

Day 02: Drive to Besisahar

Our guide will pick you up at the hotel after breakfast and take you to Besisahar. Get ready for a drive and double-check your belongings. You will arrive at Besisahar by following the Marshyangdi River. You may visit the Green Mountain, a dispersed settlement, and the revitalizing scenery along the route.

Day 03: Jeep drive to Chame

After taking a local jeep from Besisahar, you will begin your journey towards Chame on a rough route. Situated at an elevation of 1430 meters, it is a tiny town in the Annapurna Region. Enjoy the waterfall, which draws in both locals and visitors. Spend the night at the nearby resort.

Day 04: Trek Chame to Pisang

Once we leave Chame, the route takes us through Telekhu and offers some amazing views of Pisang (6091m) and Annapurna. However, we must cross the Marsyangdi River again on a suspension bridge before reaching the south side. We hike across the upper length of the Manang Valley to Pisang after crossing the river and heading higher, passing through a pine forest. We're staying at Pisang tonight.

Day 05: Trek Pisang to Manang, Overnight at the local lodge

Our journey across the upper Manang region begins in the village of Pisang. We are off to Braga today, a Tibetan village known for its distinctive architecture—houses built on top of one another. Among its primary draws is the Gompa, which is the biggest in the Manang area. Trekkers love Manang, which is also a good area to acclimate before going to higher elevations. The hike today is rather long—roughly six to seven hours. Here, we spend the night.

Day 06: Rest day at Manang for acclimatization

It is recommended by medical specialists that trekkers take some time to acclimate before climbing to higher heights. They advise continuing to be active as well. We are going to ascend Khangsar (3756m) today to aid in our acclimatization process. Views of many towering peaks can be seen from Manang, including the Grand Barrier to the West, Chulu West (6,583m) and Chulu East (6,059m) to the North, Annapurna-II, Annapurna-III (7,555m), and Gangapurna (7,454m). Overnight at Manang.

Day 07: Trek from Manang to Tilicho Base Camp

We pass Khangsar, an unusual settlement with distinctive dwellings made of stone and a distinct culture, as we leave Manang. Before arriving at Khangsar, the path follows the ridge (3734m). The village offers a unique opportunity to see the hidden Kang Guru Peak (6981m).

Day 08: Trek from Tilicho Base Camp - Tilicho Lake (4,919m) to Shree Kharka (4,060m)

We continue our ascent today, reaching Tilicho Lake (7134m), which is reached after a 5- to 6-hour hike. You can come across deer and yaks grazing along the trail. The lake's tint shifts through various blue tones due to the shifting light. We will head back to Sri Kharka after spending some time taking pictures and appreciating the lake and the surrounding peaks.

Day 09: Trek from Shree Kharka to Thorong Phedi

We are starting our descent to Khangsar Village today, which will take us via Tare Gumba (3870m), a popular monastery. Before arriving to our Yak Kharka, we continue up the Thorong Khola Valley till we get to the deserted settlement of Old Khangsar. As we go higher, we progressively adjust to the increased altitude. We follow the Jarang Khola's east bank, passing high cliffs along the way, until we arrive to Thorong Phedi, which translates to "foothills." We can hike High Camp (4800m) for an additional hour. With any hope, we could spot a snow leopard as well as the well-known blue sheep! The Lammergeyer, or bearded vulture, resides here as well. There's also the rumor that these parts are home to the griffons!

Day 10:Trek to Muktinath via ThorungLa pass

After hiking for around seven or eight hours, it is perhaps the hardest day of the journey. The difficulty level is increased by the higher altitude and occasionally by the strong winds in these higher places. We could come across sheep, yaks, and traders moving their wares along the path. We will be rewarded with breathtaking views of the Annapurna, Gangapurna, and striking peak of Khatungkang (6484m) after we reach Thorong La Pass. After descending from the pass at a height of around 1600 meters, we arrive at the magnificent Dhaulagiri, also known as Dhavali giri, or "White Mountain," which is the tallest peak in all of Nepal. After a ten-hour hike, we arrive to Muktinath, where we spend the night on a more gently rolling trail.

Day 11: Trek Muktinath to Jomsom

You will go to Jomsom, the windy city and home to Nepal's apple orchard, along the way to the Kali Gandaki Valley. Stay the night in the local lodge.

Day 12: Fly to Pokhara, transfer to Hotel

You will fly back to Pokhara from the windy city Jomsom. Once you arrive in Pokhara, you will be taken to your hotel in the city, leaving behind the peaceful seclusion. The remainder of the evening is yours.

Day 13: Drive to Kathmandu

The first part of the drive back to Kathmandu follows the roadway over the Seti and Marsyandi Rivers, while the second part winds along the Trisuli River. The highlights of the trip are the green hills along the spiral roads, with stops along the way for food (fish). Overnight at hotel in Kathmandu.

The journey comes to an end when our airport representative drops you off at Tribhuwan International Airport in Kathmandu.
