Tour overview

Do you belong to the group of people who are terrified of flying? Still, would you like to travel to have a close-up look at the formidable Mount Everest? Then the road trek to Everest Base Camp is a great choice for you. This is a recently available package that will transport you, without the need for flight, to the base of the highest white giant in the world. There’s no need to fly to Lukla for our 17-day trip. Trekkers won’t have to worry about bad weather or having to reschedule their plans as a result. Trail users may also engage more with the people of the lower villages in the Solu-Khumbu area by strolling on this trail.

The lifestyle of the Sherpa ethnic groups is seen here to differ from that in the upper regions of Khumbu. As a result, even while the trip showcases backgrounds from the same ethnic groups, it allows experiencing slightly different lifestyles. In addition, the road section of the Everest Base Camp Trek starts with a drive via Phaplu from Kathmandu to Ringmo. Trekkers should prepare to spend some time sitting in a four-wheeled vehicle since it is a lengthy but beautiful journey. The journey begins with the rough paths of Takshindo and continues through Khari Khola and Puiyan to Phakding and Namche, where we take the traditional path to Everest Base Camp. Encountering exquisite Sherpa settlements and imposing monasteries while admiring towering peaks, this tranquil journey offers some breathtaking views.

Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival Kathmandu

Upon your arrival, our airport representative will greet you at Kathmandu's Tribhuvan International Airport. He will drive you in a private car to the hotel. On that day, you will have a planned meeting at the hotel regarding your trip. We will introduce you to your guide/leader at this meeting. Feel free to ask any questions you may have regarding the trip. Moreover, you will spend the night at a Kathmandu hotel.

Day 02: Drive Kathmandu to Salleri or Phaplu

According to the prior meeting regarding the trip's departure, the Guide will come to your hotel early in the morning, around 5 AM. From there, they will travel to the Jeep station at Chabahil or Koteshwor. Travel the BP Highway to Ghurmi for lunch after a five-hour drive. The journey becomes increasingly exciting as we follow the path, which passes by villages, rice terraces, rivers, and gorgeous landscapes. From Ghurmi, it takes four hours to reach Phaplu (2,485 m). Overnight at Phaplu.

Day 03: Drive from Salleri to ThamDanda (2326 M) and Trek to Paiya

After breakfast, we will continue our drive to Thamdanda. From there, it takes another five to seven hours to go off-road to Thame Danda. We will begin the short hike to Paiya after we reach Thamdanda. Overnight at Paiya.

Day 04: Trek to Phakding

We start our journey today from Thame Danda, the road's final destination, and ascend for two hours to arrive at Paiya. The route descends to the Surke (2,290m) after an hour. Afterwards, the path heads towards the Chaurikharka (2,422m) below Lukla by following the Dudhkoshi River for over an hour, after traversing remnants and a century-old Buddhist Chorten. After a brief hike, you may reach the main Everest Base Camp path at Chheplung. Now there's a big group of trekkers coming in from the airport at Lukla. After another two hours of easy trekking through towns, through woodlands, across some long-ass bridges, you will arrive at Phakding, the home of the Sherpa. Stay in the Teahouse for the night.

Day 05: Trek to Namche Bazaar

The trail follows the northern trial all the way to Monjo via the Dudh Kosi Valley. The trek officially enters Sagarmatha National Park at Monjo, where a Sagarmatha National Park Permit Card is required. You will reach the center of Sherpa—Namche Bazaar—by following the trek along the hard ascent while relishing the first view of Everest.

Day 06: Hike to Khumjung and Acclimatization in Khumjung

After hiking to Khumjung village, we will spend the whole day there to acclimate to the altitude and surroundings. It is usually better to be active during the day rather than spend it sitting down. Additionally, you may go to the museum, monasteries, or the headquarters of the National Parks. You may spend your evenings exploring the market districts. We will also be staying in a Khumjung lodge this evening.

Day 07: Trek to Tengboche

After breakfast in Namche, you will stroll along the valley's edge above the Dudh Koshi River. You will drop sharply to a bridge across the river at Phunki Tenga, where you may view a water-driven prayer wheel, after passing by multiple villages and a large number of tea shops. It's also a great place to stop for lunch and relax before starting the arduous ascent to Tengboche. The stunning rhododendron plants, birds, and magnificent mountains along the trail let you forget about the strenuous zigzag path. The first glimpse of the breathtaking peaks of Mt. Everest, Ama Dablam, Lhotse Shar, Tawache, Kangtega, Thamserku, and Nuptse will be shown to you. When you get to Tengboche, you may explore the biggest monastery in Khumbu, the Tengboche Monastery.

Day 08: Trek to Dingboche

After crossing another thrilling suspension bridge over the Imja Khola, the path descends to Debuche from Tengboche and then rises up to Pangboche amid hundreds of mani stones. You will reach the charming, traditional Sherpa hamlet of Dingboche with its breathtaking vistas of Lhotse, Island Peak, and Ama Dablam as you continue your upward walk. To reduce the effects of the altitude, you will stay the night.

Day 09:Trek to Lobuche

The trip will ascend the village further today, providing views of the surrounding mountains, including Mt. Makalu. To get to Dugla, you'll need to ascend steeply towards the base of the Khumbu Glacier. At the nearby lodges, you will have lunch and then relax for a bit. After that, you'll ascend by a track that zigzags across the glacier's terminal moraine's rocks. Numerous stone cairns honoring the numerous Sherpas who lost their lives while scaling Mount Everest may be found at the summit of this ascent. Subsequently, the route ascends gradually beside the glacier, ultimately arriving at the settlement of Lobuche. It is located below the Lhotse Ridge.

Day 10: Trek to Everest Base Camp and Return to Gorakshep

The day begins with a mix of excitement and fear, making it the most intriguing and difficult of the entire journey. You will be trekking up to 5364 meters, the base camp of Mount Everest, today. You'll pass past the Khumbu Glacier's horizontal moraine. The north ridges of several mountains, including Mount Everest, Pumori, Mahalangur, Nuptse, and others, may be seen on the route to Gorekshep. As you ascend farther into the Changri Glacier, you'll catch your first look at Kalapatthar. After making a lunch halt in Gorekshep, you will resume your hike to the Everest Base Camp, the ultimate goal.

Day 11: Trek to Kalapathar back to Pheriche

The hike to Kalapatthar on this day is extremely thrilling and daring after reaching Everest Basecamp. Our guide will give you a call in the early morning to prepare you for your initial climb to Kalapatthar. The purpose of the trip is to witness the mountains, particularly Mount Everest, covered in shimmering yellow-white snow when each morning's rays hit them. Every moment turns into an unforgettable and thrilling experience, so remember to take pictures. After that, you'll head back to Gorekshep in a rejuvenated state and make your way back to Pheriche, where you'll spend the night.

Day 12: Trek to Namche

After breakfast, we then take the same route we earlier discovered into the town of Pangboche, then circle back and pass through Imja Khola, beautiful woods, several bridges, and various communities to reach Tengboche. We will extend our walk and pass prayer stones and small walls reaching Namche Bazaar, where we will enjoy Sherpa traditional dances and food.

Day 13: Trek to Chaurikharka

Walking from here to Chaurikharka takes around 6 or 7 hours. Most of the path passes through Sherpa settlements and jungle as it descends by the Dudhkoshi River. Return to Chaurikharka (2,694m) and enjoy the surroundings and mountain views once again. If you want to see the most exciting airport in the world, Lukla is just a 20-minute walk from the teahouse. We will be spending the night in the tea house.

Day 14: Trek to Thamdanda and Drive to Salleri

It's an easy drop to Thamdanda. We say goodbye to our porter and head off for a three-hour journey with a guide in a sharing jeep. Thamdanda's local tea house is another great place to stay the night.

Day 15: Drive from Salleri to Kathmandu

Take a Jeep back to Kathmandu today. It takes seven to ten hours to go back, stopping frequently along the route. Once in Kathmandu, check into a hotel for the night.

Day 16: Departure Day

On your final day of trekking, you can explore Kathmandu Valley to have fun, make some memories, or go shopping in order to pass the time before your flight. Your trip to the airport will be in a private vehicle provided by our company, and when you arrive there, a representative will greet you politely and wish you safe travel.
