Tour overview
Trekking to the Gokyo and Kalapatthar High Passes, which include Renjo-la Pass, Cho-la, Gokyo-Ri, Kalapatthar, Chukung Ri, and Everest Base Camp, is the ultimate trekking experience at elevations above 5000 meters. The Gokyo Valley trek is an incredibly amazing route that offers a comprehensive trekking experience in the Everest area. The journey starts with an exhilarating flight to the Lukla airstrip. Once the hike has acclimatized to Namche, it turns clockwise towards Thame. Experience the monastery’s way of life, the historic trade route, and the culture, customs, and way of life of the highland Sherpas while traveling. After leaving the settlements, go over Renjo-la Pass to see the snow-capped peaks and glaciers that combine ethnic Himalayan culture with adventure.
Passes are the main attraction of this trek. Walk on ice and glaciers as you cross the Cho-la Pass above Ngozumpa. As you hike to Everest base camp, the scenery, particularly the Himalayan view, gradually gets closer and more breathtaking. The breathtaking 360-degree view of the Himalayas may thereafter be experienced with a hurried trek down Kalapatthar Ridge.
Additionally, if you want to see the Everest region in a short amount of time, you may sign up for our Everest Base Camp Trek-14 Days, which also gives you the chance to take in the area’s natural splendor and enrich your cultural experiences.

Itinerary
Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu
Upon your arrival, our airport representative will greet you at Kathmandu's Tribhuvan International Airport. He will drive you in a private car to the hotel. On that day, you will have a planned meeting at the hotel regarding your trip. We will introduce you to your guide/leader at this meeting. Feel free to ask any questions you may have regarding the trip. Moreover, you will spend the night at a Kathmandu hotel.
Day 02: Fly to Lukla and Trek to Phakding
You will take off over the snow-capped mountains on a clear, bright morning to reach Lukla, one of the most thrilling high-altitude airports, which is located at a height of 2900 meters. You will be accompanied on the trek by your guide and porter. And thus the trekking begins. You will descend over 500 meters to the Dudh Koshi River at the start of the trek. After that, the journey heads towards Phakding following the riverside walk. Arriving at Phakding, where you will spend the first night of your trek, you will pass several mani-walls and boulders etched with Buddhist prayers.
Day 03: Trek to Namche
The trail follows the northern trial all the way to Monjo via the Dudh Kosi Valley. The trek officially enters Sagarmatha National Park at Monjo, where a Sagarmatha National Park Permit Card is required. You will reach the center of Sherpa—Namche Bazaar—by following the trek along the hard ascent while relishing the first view of Everest.
Day 04: Hike to Khumjung and Acclimatization in Khumjung
After hiking to Khumjung village, we will spend the whole day there to acclimate to the altitude and surroundings. It is usually better to be active during the day rather than spend it sitting down. Additionally, you may go to the museum, monasteries, or the headquarters of the National Parks. You may spend your evenings exploring the market districts. We will also be staying in a Khumjung lodge this evening.
Day 05: Trek to Thame
You will trek up into Thame, a historic Sherpa settlement, today, following the ancient commercial routes of Tibet, Nepal, and India. You will visit Khare Gompa and stroll through the picturesque town of Thamo on a track that slopes gently. The path passes through stunning Gompa and Chortains, and it even passes by the home of two renowned climbers: Apa Sherpa, who has climbed Everest 21 times, and Tenzing Norkey, who was the first to summit the mountain alongside Sir Edmund Hillary. As you approach the hamlet, you will come across the oldest Gompa in the Khumbu valley, which is the place of the annual Mani Rimdhu festival.
Day 06: Trek to Lumde
Following breakfast, you will travel towards Marlung via the Bhote Koshi River, which will take you uphill. You're going to stop there for lunch. The trek offers views of several snow-capped summits, such as Teningbo (5893 m), Phuletate (5597 m), Khumbi Yul Lha (5761 m), and Mt. Kapsale (5583 m). Since the Khumbu valley communities end at Thame, you will seldom ever see Sherpa dwellings. You may see yak caravans making their way from Tibet to Lumde, where you will spend the night.
Day 07: Trek to Gokyo (4,790 m) via Renjo-la Pass
You have to use greater technical skills today since you are crossing a major part of the Renjo-la Pass. For an hour, the path is easy and smooth; after that, you'll need to use extreme caution to ascend Renjo-la Pass. Your arduous deed will grant you the opportunity to witness the breathtaking vistas of Gyachung Kang, Makalu, Tengi Ragi Tau, Rolwaling Range, and the Everest Himalayan range. You will spend the night in Gokyo, where your first fascinating pass concludes.
Day 08: Gokyo Valley: Acclimatization Day – Optional Hike to 5th Lake: 6-7 hours
Spending only one day in this intriguing village of Gokyo Ri is not enough. We have allotted one extra day to fully enjoy and be in awe of this village's natural beauty. Hiking to Gokyo Ri (5,430m) will reward you with fantastic panoramic vistas, including a breathtaking view of Mount Everest. There is no denying the breathtaking scenery. In contrast to the Everest Base Camp Trek, you can simultaneously see the majestic Himalayas, stunning blue lakes, and glaciers from Gokyo Ri. After an enjoyable lunch, you have free time to explore the Gokyo villages. For the rest of the day, you'll be in total peace while you take in the breathtaking scenery.
Day 09: Trek to Phortse
Now that we have made it to Gokyo Lakes, it is time to head back. We say farewell to Gokyo Village and return to Phortse through thick forests brimming with blossoming rhododendrons and pheasantry that vary with the season. It is easy to descend. We will thus go a distance in a day that required two days for the ascent. You'll be recalling other places and things you passed earlier as you make your way back. Though the Himalayan vista gradually disappears, the atmosphere is so exquisite and pure that you will thoroughly enjoy our stroll.
Day 10: Trek to Namche Bazaar
We leave Phortse and return to Namche, completing our trip to the Gokyo Lakes. You will be passing through thick woodlands that are home to mountain goats and musk deer. You quicken your pace as you return to the steeply descending route. As you say goodbye to the trekking region, you will be able to enjoy the last glimpses of Mount Everest from the route. It is a day of rest for you in Namche.
Day 11: Trek to Lukla
You will get your last close-up looks at the magnificent mountains that are towering in the distance today. The path from Namche to Phakding is primarily descending. We go through little towns, winding woods, and exhilarating suspension bridges. It will be a leisurely stroll through Benkar before we arrive at Phakding. We continue on toward Lukla and come to the little settlement of Toktok. Toktok offers magnificent views of the surrounding snow-capped mountains. You will eventually arrive at Lukla, where you will spend the night.
Day 12: Fly back to Kathmandu
You have an early morning flight to Kathmandu after breakfast. As you rest your sore muscles, your trip from Lukla to Kathmandu will be a soothing one. After your trek concludes in Kathmandu, you will have free time for the whole day.
Day 13: Spare day
With a spare day in Kathmandu, you may spend it exploring the city further and buying gifts/souvenirs in the Thamel neighborhood. We can plan a tour of Kathmandu's city center if you would like. Before you decide to conclude your trip, you should definitely check out the local culture, which is just as lovely as the mountains.
Day 14: Departure
It's now time to bid you farewell and transport you to the airport for your last journey home following your vacation in Nepal. When your flight is set to depart, our driver will transport you to the airport. Please let us know if you plan to remain longer and if you would like any additional activities. We'll work to give you better service.
