Tour overview

Take a dip in Gosainkunda Lake’s crystal-clear “holy” water, which is considered sacred and a sanctuary of the Hindu deities Shiva and Gauri.
This hike is in Nepal’s considerably more peaceful and uncrowded Langtang Region. In the Rasuwa District, Gosainkunda Lake is located at an elevation of 4380 meters. The Trishuli River is formed when it melts after being frozen for six months of the year, from October to March. The area is home to 108 lakes in all. Additionally close by is Lauribina La Pass (4610m).

Thousands of pilgrims from Nepal and India visit the region during the Gangadashahara and Janai Purnima festivals, when its waters are revered as sacred and hold special importance. It is said that Lord Shiva built Gosainkunda when he plunged his Trishul (holy Trident) into a mountain to draw water out of it to soothe his burning throat after ingesting poison.

Langtang and in particular, Gosainkunda is located close to the Tibetan border.
You may witness the distinct culture, customs, and way of life of the Tamang people as you travel across the expansive region between Langtang and Ganesh Himal.

Itinerary

Day 1 : Arrival at Kathmandu transfer to hotel.

Upon your arrival, our airport representative will greet you at Kathmandu's Tribhuvan International Airport. He will drive you in a private car to the hotel. On that day, you will have a planned meeting at the hotel regarding your trip. We will introduce you to your guide/leader at this meeting. Feel free to ask any questions you may have regarding the trip. Moreover, you will spend the night at a Kathmandu hotel.

Day 2 : Drive from Kathmandu to Dhunche

After leaving Kathmandu, we drive through the picturesque foothills for five to seven hours till we arrive at Dhunche. We travel to Trishuli Bazaar on the first part of the voyage, and then we continue on a dirt road until we reach Dhunche, where we spend the night.

Day 3 : Trek from Dhunche to Sing Gompa

We will be trekking for five to seven hours today. The trek begins with an ascent to the Ghatte Khola river, which we cross over on a suspension bridge. From there, we go through silver oak, pine, and rhododendron woods, culminating at Sing Gompa. There's also an old cheese factory in Sing Gompa. We stay at Sing Gompa tonight.

Day 4 : Trek from Sing Gompa to Lauribina

As we follow the route around the northern side of a mountain, leaving Sing Gompa behind, we get our first glimpses of Ganesh Himal, and eventually arrive at Cholangpati Village. We reach Lauribina after climbing higher, where we spend the night.

Day 5 : Trek from Lauribina to Gosainkunda

Today's hike lasts two to three hours and follows a track that offers breathtaking views of other nearby lakes. Gosainkunda Lake is the primary attraction here. The path progressively ascends, via verdant meadows, historic stone walls, Chortens, and Buddhist temples. Saraswati Kund, the first lake on this path, is located far below us. The considerably bigger Bhairab Kund is the lake we reach next. There are statues of Ganesh and Saraswati in stone just above the lake. We continue on the route a little ways and spend the night at Gosainkunda.

Day 6 : Trek from Gosainkunda to Ghopte

Today's hike crosses the 4610-meter Lauribina La Pass, which can be dangerous in heavy snowfall. The route meanders by the lakes of Surya Kund, Ganesh Kund, and Dudh Kund. After descending from the pass, we follow a rough and steep path to the lodge at Phedi High Camp (4100m), which is now closed because of storm damage. We keep going till we get to Phedi, where we spend the night.

Day 7 : Trek from Ghopte to Tharepati

We trek for six to seven hours today alongside a river with sporadic waterfalls tumbling down the side beneath towering cliffs, amid trees of juniper and rhododendron. The route dips to Mera Kharka (3566m) and then continues to Tharepati (3690m), where there are breathtaking views of Helambu Village. We proceed towards Mangengoth by following a hill. We are staying in Tharepati tonight.

Day 8 : Trek from Tharepati to Mangengoth

After leaving Tharepati, the hike to Gaurishankar is a somewhat straightforward one over a broad track that provides vistas to the east and west, maybe including sightings of Ganesh. The region is surrounded by forest, and you may go on a side hike to Kyuola Bhanjyang (3480m), where you might be able to spot meerkats and the elusive red panda playing.

Day 9 : Trek from Mangengoth to Kutumsang

Today's 4–5 hour hike takes us along the ridge to Kutumsang, with a tea break in Sangugupte Village. We follow a challenging road through the forest, with steep steps, and monkeys hanging out in the treetops all around us. There's a white stupa just before you get to Kutumsang. We are staying in Kutumsang tonight.

Day 10 : Trek from Kutumsang to Thodung

Our journey to Gul Zhanjiang and then Gul Bhanjyang (2130), with its narrow roads and several lodges, is going to be quite the challenge today. We stay overnight at Thodung tonight.

Day 11 : Trek from Thodung to Chisapani

Our journey to Gul Zhanjiang and then Gul Bhanjyang (2130), with its narrow roads and several lodges, is going to be quite the challenge today. We stay overnight at Thodung tonight.

This morning's walk will take five to six hours and will go through a more humid area as it passes through Chipling (2170m) and Lapche. The hike offers breathtaking views of the Annapurna Ranges to the west and Chobo Bamare to the east. The route descends to Pati Bhanjyang (1830m) and Thankune Bhanjyang (1900m). This portion of the route is difficult, but it gets better as we approach Chisapani, our overnight stop. Beautiful sunset views can be seen from here.

Day 12 : Trek from Chisapani to Sundarijal & drive to Kathmandu.

We hike through Shivapuri National Park's subtropical woods for three to four hours today. After passing through the Borlang Bhanjyang pass, we descend through the forest by stone stairs till we reach Malkharka (1855m). After arriving at Sundrajijal (1460 m), we drive back to Kathmandu.

Day 13 : Transfer to International Airport.

The journey comes to an end when our airport representative drops you off at Tribhuwan International Airport in Kathmandu.
