Tour overview
Ascending Lobuche East is an incredible experience that combines a Himalayan adventure with a glacier exploration of several towering peaks, including the majestic magnificence of Mount Everest. This makes Lobuche Peak climbing one of the most rewarding peak-climbing destinations in the Himalayas of Nepal. Undoubtedly, reaching the summit of Lobuche Peak is challenging. The exhilarating flight to Lukla (Tenzing Hillary Airport) and the gradual ascent past several distinctive villages with stone houses, verdant forests, glaciers, open grasslands, and pastures while taking in the breathtaking views of the surrounding area and towering mountains leads to the base of Lobuche Peak.
Compared to other trekking peaks in Nepal, Lobuche East Peak is more challenging and technically demanding, meaning that it calls for a higher level of climbing skill and commitment than Mera and Island Peak. Lobuche East Peak, which is rated as PD/2 on the alpine grading system, is often ascended by the southeast ridge. As you ascend Lobuche East Peak, you will be rewarded with a breathtaking view of numerous peaks to the west and south, including Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Ama Dablam, Cholatse, Pumori, and a panoramic view of the Everest region. Along the way, you can explore Sherpa villages, Buddhist monasteries, a wealth of flora and fauna, and Everest Base Camp.

Today, you may stroll around the village and capture breathtaking pictures of the Himalayan peaks. Situated above the Tsola River, Pheriche is a well-liked destination for hikers and mountain climbers. Day 08: Trek to Lobuche (4,928m/16164 ft.), 5-6 hrs
The trip will ascend the village further today, providing views of the surrounding mountains, including Mt. Makalu. To get to Dugla, you'll need to ascend steeply towards the base of the Khumbu Glacier. At the nearby lodges, you will have lunch and then relax for a bit. After that, you'll ascend by a track that zigzags across the glacier's terminal moraine's rocks. Numerous stone cairns honoring the numerous Sherpas who lost their lives while scaling Mount Everest may be found at the summit of this ascent. Subsequently, the route ascends gradually beside the glacier, ultimately arriving at the settlement of Lobuche. It is located below the Lhotse Ridge.
Day 09: Trek to Gorakshep (5,160m/16,929ft) & hike to Everest Base Camp (5,364 m/17,594ft) 6-7 hrs
The day begins with a mix of excitement and fear, making it the most intriguing and difficult of the entire journey. You will be trekking up to 5364 meters, the base camp of Mount Everest, today. You'll pass past the Khumbu Glacier's horizontal moraine. The north ridges of several mountains, including Mount Everest, Pumori, Mahalangur, Nuptse, and others, may be seen on the route to Gorekshep. As you ascend farther into the Changri Glacier, you'll catch your first look at Kalapatthar. After making a lunch halt in Gorekshep, you will resume your hike to the Everest Base Camp, the ultimate goal.
The journey is made more exciting by the breathtaking views of the mountains and surroundings, which even outweigh the strenuous trek on the steep climb. From Gorekshep, the trek will take around three hours to complete. You can truly see the most dangerous way to the summit once you get at base camp, adding to the thrill of the climb. After spending some time seeing the base camp and the surrounding area, you'll head back to Gorak Shep for the evening.
Day 10: Trek to Kala Patthar (5545m/18,192ft) and then to Lobuche (4,928m/16164 ft) 5-6hrs
Hiking to Kalapatthar (5545m) is the first activity of the day. This is a great viewpoint that offers views of the Khumbu and the Mount Everest range. In order to see the sun rising over the Everest Mountains, including Mt. Everest (8848m), Lhotse (8414m), Ama Dablam (6856m), Nuptse (7861m), Pumori (7165m), Thamserku (6608m), and Lobuche Peak (6145m), hikers typically leave for Kalapatthar before dawn. Following our time spent admiring the vista at Kalapatthar, we will go back to Gorakshep, eat breakfast, and then descend to Dingboche, Khumbu's summer valley. Spend the night at Dingboche Guesthouse.
Day 11: Trek to High Camp (5398m/17,712ft) for 3-4hrs
We will hike to the Lobuche Base Camp from Lobuche. This section of the route is quite flat, but after sometimes trekking across it, we will come upon harder hills and uneven, rocky terrain. We will go towards High Camp along the rough moraine road from the Lobuche base camp. Spend the night in High Camp Lobuche East.
Day 12: Climb to the Summit (6, 119m/20,075ft) and back to the High Camp (5398m/17,712ft) 10hrs
We will eat breakfast early in the morning, around 12 or 1 am, and then start our climb. We must reach the summit before noon because, in the afternoon, blustery highland winds could pose as a barrier stopping us from reaching the top. Up to about 5,700 meters, we will be walking on rock surfaces. After that, we will ascend on thick ice. Compared to other trekking peaks, Lobuche East has the most stunning views of the Himalayas. Magnificent vistas of the Himalayas, including Ama Dablam (6856 meters), Pumori (7165 meters), Lhotse (8414 meters), Nuptse (7801 meters), and Everest (8848 meters) are available from the top. We take in the magnificent show before making our way back to the High camp. Spend the night in High Camp Lobuche East.
Day 13: Trek to Pangboche (3931m/12900ft) 5-6hrs
We trek downwards from High Camp and re-join the Everest Base Camp trail at Lobuche. We will follow our route back to Pheriche from Lobuche. The route leading to Pheriche offers stunning views of Mount Ama Dablam (6856m) in the distance. We drop steadily from Pheriche to Pangboche, which is the home of the renowned Pangboche Monastery. Spend the night at Pangboche.
Day 14: Trek back to Namche Bazaar (3440m/11,283ft) 5-6hrs
You are going to make the same trip back to Namche today. Walking the entire distance to Namche along the precipitous riverbank, passing across a bridge, and taking in the scenery of the birch and rhododendron forests. A few Himalayan giants, such as Everest, Kwangde, Tawache, Nuptse, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, Kantega, and Thamserkhu, will also continue to attract your attention. A pleasant overnight at Namche awaits you.
Day 15: Trek to Lukla (2,800m/9,186ft), 4-5 hrs
The journey is coming to an end today. To get to Lukla, you will stroll alongside the Dudh Koshi River. The Porters, Sherpas, and Guides will be joining you for the celebration. They will celebrate while learning some traditional Sherpa dancing moves, and they will serve some local beer called "CHANG."
Day 16: Fly back to Kathmandu
