Tour overview
Makalu Base Camp Trek is a spectacular adventurous journey in the heart of eastern Nepal and has long been one of Nepal’s best-kept trekking secrets as its base camp is a less-frequented route because of its relative inaccessibility. This 21 days trek is a suitable trek for nature-loving trekkers who want to experience an assortment of landscapes and cultures that likewise present memorable adventures in wild, remote, and relatively untouched areas of Nepal. This path offers unique stunning flora and fauna as you advance towards Makalu Base camp, sheltered at 5,250 meters of altitude as well as panoramic views of some of the world’s highest mountains, including Everest.
The journey begins in warm, terraced farmland occupied by the Rai people, a unique ethnic group found particularly in the hills of eastern Nepal. As the trail ascends, you will pass through fascinating rhododendron and cloud forests, through several of the last areas of alpine meadows and pristine forests in Nepal. The top of this trek is the remarkable high peaks of Mt. Makalu, Kanchenjunga, Mt. Baruntse, Mt. Chamlang, and Lhotse, followed by descending to Arun River. You will pass through deep and flowery forests, experience beautiful natural environments, and witness typical Nepalese towns. Moreover, you will have the satisfaction of achieving challenging routes throughout the journey. Despite the fact that the area is economically weak, you will witness an extremely amazing cultural heritage. The major highlight of this trek is the remarkable beauty of the Himalayan landscape and mind-boggling panoramic views of high Himalayan mountains like Mt. Everest (8,848 m), Mt. Makalu (8,481 m), Mt. Chamlang (7,319), Mt. Lhotse (8,516 m), Mt. Baruntse (7,220m), and several other mountains. Makalu Base Camp Trekking is a perfect journey for any travel enthusiasts who are searching for a less crowded route in the Himalayas.
