Tour overview

The short Mardi Himal Trek goes through the Annapurna Sanctuary Area, ascending from Pokhara, at 820 meters, to Mardi Himal Base Camp, at 4,500 meters. While the Mardi Himal Trek is not as well-known as longer trekking routes like the Annapurna Circuit Trek and the Annapurna base Camp Trek, it is still well worth the trip because of the breathtaking views it offers of the Mardi Himal (5,587 m / 18,330 ft) and other snow-capped mountains like Annapurna I (8,091 m / 26538 ft), Annapurna South (7,219 m / 23,680 ft), Machhapuchre (6,997 meters / 22,950 ft), and Gangapurna Himal (7,454 m / 24,450 ft).

The Mardi Himal Trek offers an incredibly beautiful and breathtaking trip to the Mardi Himal, where you will be enthralled with the vistas of snow-capped peaks, verdant rolling hills, and strolling through a virgin forest lined with gorgeous oak, rhododendron, and magnolia trees.

TRIP HIGHLIGHTS:

The trek’s highest point, Mardi Himal Base Camp, at a height of 4,500 meters.

Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu

Upon your arrival, our airport representative will greet you at Kathmandu's Tribhuvan International Airport. He will drive you in a private car to the hotel. On that day, you will have a planned meeting at the hotel regarding your trip. We will introduce you to your guide/leader at this meeting. Feel free to ask any questions you may have regarding the trip. Moreover, you will spend the night at a Kathmandu hotel.

Day 02: Drive to Pokhara

We will start the trip by bus or a private vehicle from Kathmandu to Pokhara early in the morning, passing along the Trisuli River. It takes around seven or eight hours to go to the Pokhara Valley. We may take boat rides on Pokhara's Phewa Lake and visit several intriguing places, including as Devi's Fall, Guptswor Cave, and Tal Barahi Temple.

Option: The airfare from Kathmandu to Pokhara, which is USD 125 per person, is not included. This can be arranged on request.

Day 03: Pokhara to Phedi drive and Trek to Pothana

Today's destination is Pothana. The trip continues with a 40-minute bus ride to Phedi after breakfast. This is where the uphill trek starts. Our trek to the stunning Gurung village, Dhampus, begins with a hike through the jungle and various tiny settlements. We will first make our way past Deurali and up a difficult ascent from Dhampus to the Australian Camp. We continue to go up to Pothana, which is located along the Annapurna Circuit path. You may spend the evening touring Pothana and taking in the mountain vistas. We're going to spend the night in Pothana in a teahouse.

Day 04: Pothana to Forest Camp

The destination for the day is the Forest Camp. The steep walk continues on the stone-paved route from Pothana to Deurali. When we get to Deurali, we choose an unmarked path that leads eastward instead of continuing on the circuit route. On the way to the Forest Camp, the track winds through a thick forest, offering views of the Dhaulagiri and Annapurna massifs as well as some animals. In the late afternoon, we arrived at the forest camp and spend a night at the local lodge.

Day 05: Forest Camp to High Camp

Today's destination is the High Camp. We go on from the Forest Camp in the direction of the High Camp. Despite the short distance, there is a considerable ascent through juniper and rhododendron forests. There is hardly any habitation nearby. To go to the high camp, we first traverse the Nangge Danda after passing the Manjh Danda. The most breathtaking vista of Machhapuchhre, the Annapurna Range, the valley of Annapurna Base Camp, and the Mardi Himal await you at the summit. Overnight at High Camp.

Day 06: High Camp to Mardi Himal Base Camp and back to High Camp

The plan for today is to go to Mardi Himal Base Camp. We wake earlier today than usual to take in the beauty of the High Camp at daybreak. It's a difficult day since we have to trek on a rough, narrow track. After departing from the High Camp, we climb for almost four hours to arrive at the Mardi Himal base camp. We stroll back to the High Camp after taking in the sights from the base camp.

Day 07: High Camp to Siding Village and drive back to Pokhara

Today's destination is Siding Village and drive back to Pokhara. We return to the Low Camp after a difficult descent from the High Camp across the Nangge Danda. We leave the previously trail at the Low Camp and make our way through the thick forest in the direction of the Mardi Khola River. The stroll carries on to Siding Village.

The planned destination for the day is Pokhara. After leaving Siding, we now climb down the river valley, passing through a number of little Tamang and Gurung villages until arriving at Lumre. We board a car in Lumre that will transport us to Pokhara in an hour. You may spend the evening taking in the Lakeside. We will spend the night in a Pokhara hotel.
